Complexions Detroit Summer Intensive Program

Type: Ages: 11 to 18

The Complexions Detroit Summer Intensive Program instructs its students like no other. It guides dancers to achieve their full artistic potential in the unique and exclusive style of Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Students are taught the Complexions Technique through classroom exercises and company repertoire instruction. Co-Artistic Directors Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, along with current and former Complexions company members and WSU dance faculty members, provide mentoring, coaching professional instruction and artistic development. A unique feature of this program is that students receive complimentary tickets to attend a Complexions Contemporary Ballet Company performance at the Music Hall before the intensive begins. In this way, students can see the artistic style and better understand the high level of skill required of a professional dancer. Participants experience techniques designed to cultivate and develop strong, well-trained dancers who are educated to perform more skillfully and creatively. Culminating the two-week intensive, the students perform Complexions repertory and technique at the Student Showcase Concert with Complexions company members at the Music Hall.
