SAT Boot Camp

Type: Ages: 15 to 18

SAT Boot Camp is an intensive six-week SAT summer enrichment mentorship program, focusing on math and writing skills necessary for success on the SAT and gaining access to college. The program, held on Wayne State’s campus, has limited spots available. First priority for this free, valuable program will be given to the most qualified applicants who submit complete and timely applications. SAT Boot Camp will run June 26 through Aug. 3 and will be taught by highly qualified faculty members, with current students from the Irvin D. Reid Honors College serving as assistant instructors and mentors. Everyday attendance is mandatory. To qualify for SAT Boot Camp, students must complete an application, attaching transcripts, a letter of recommendation and an essay addressing future goals and how SAT Boot Camp can help achieve them. Customarily, students are most successful if they are entering 10th, 11th or 12th grade in the fall and have had a grade of B or better in algebra and English (or a grade of C or better if high school G.P.A. is above a 3.0). Applications will be accepted through March 31 and can be found at communityengagement.wayne.edu. There are only 40 seats for this program.
